Master P’s Tae Kwon Do school in West Chester Pennsylvania is now on Foursquare.com, a location-based social networking tool that is relatively new in some regards but that also shows promise.
Foursquare is free to use and fun to do. By creating a profile you can check in to places that you frequent or are visiting for the first time. By “checking in” you accumulate points and earn awards. These awards can be used by the venue operators to engage customers and add to the customer experience.
One good example of how Foursquare can be useful to customers and for businesses is this video of the 2010 Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Show done for Vinart Dealerships near Allentwon PA which was created by by Ryan Gerardi of AutoConversion and Ryan Taft of Catalyst Marketers.
Gerardi is a student of Master P and his Webmaster. Taft works with Gerardi on the blog, with emails, and other social media.
In this video, Gerardi & Taft use Foursquare at the auto show to check in while explaining to viewers about the benefits of a savings program they manage for Vinart Dealerships in Lehigh Valley. The video also gives you a glimpse of select Honda and Acura vehicles, plus a special drag race with Volvo.
Students at Master P’s Tae Kwon Do school can use Foursquare to “check-in” each time they come to class. Parents also could be checking in to Master P’s on Foursquare too. All you need is a smart phone such as the Droid, iPhone, PalmPre, or BlackBerry.
To get started go to www.foursquare.com and follow the instructions to register. Once registered, do a search for “Master P” or click the image below. You can add tips for others such as, “Try it out, you’ll love it”, and to-do items for yourself or for others.
Then, from your mobile phone, go to foursquare.com and follow the instructions for installing it on your mobile phone or device
>> Click image to begin <<
Once you are set up and have Foursquare on your phone then start making a point to “check in” each time you come to class or stop by for something. Before you know it you will have a number is check-ins, points, and awards that the dojang can use to interact with students and members.
NOTE TO PARENTS: If your children are going to use Foursquare, talk to them about the importance of only connecting with people they know and trust. This tool permits you to see the whereabouts of people with whom you permit. For everyone’s safety you want to keep your children’s whereabouts made only to those you know and can trust. We have created a discussion thread on our Facebook page to offer parents a space to discuss both the constructive uses of Foursquare and safety concerns as well. >> Visit Discussion…
